The Propaganda and the Truth
Few places in the Czech Republic leave such a lasting impression as Terezín. Originally built as a vast 18th-century fortress, it became the setting for one of the most cynical deceptions of World War II. The Nazis presented Terezín to the outside world as a “model ghetto” – a carefully staged illusion designed to conceal the reality of persecution and deportation.
Behind the freshly painted facades, however, lay overcrowding, hunger, fear, and the constant threat of transport to the extermination camps. On this private tour, we look beyond the propaganda. Together, we explore the Small Fortress, the former Gestapo prison, visit the Ghetto Museum and the Magdeburg Barracks, and learn how prisoners managed to preserve their dignity, culture, and humanity under impossible conditions.
This is a place of remembrance, reflection, and understanding. Every tour is fully customizable to suit your interests and pace.
The Route: Prague → Small Fortress → Ghetto Museum → Magdeburg Barracks → Crematorium → Jewish Cemetery → Prague
