Prague in the 20th Century

Explore the history of 20th century Prague, where pivotal events shaped the nation. We begin with the former Gestapo headquarters, now a reminder of the atrocities of war. We will visit the memorial to Sir Nicholas Winton, who saved hundreds of children from the Holocaust. Then we move to the crypt of the church of St. Cyril and Methodius, where the Czechoslovak paratroopers who carried out the assassination of the “Butcher of Prague” perished. After National Avenue, we will reach the Velvet Revolution monument. Our next stop will be Wenceslas Square, where we will remember the events of 1968 and 1989. Finally, we will immerse ourselves in the history of the Cold War by visiting the underground nuclear bunker under the Yalta Hotel, built in the 1950s.
