Explore Prague’s recent history. This tour covers the key events of the 20th century, from the dramas of World War II and Communist rule to the joyous moment of the Velvet Revolution. We will uncover stories of national resistance and the pursuit of freedom.
We begin at the Petschek Palace, the former Gestapo headquarters. Then we visit the Memorial to Sir Nicholas Winton, who saved children from the Holocaust.
Our path leads to the crypt of the Church of St. Cyril and Methodius, the final refuge of the paratroopers who carried out Operation Anthropoid. We continue along Národní třída to the Velvet Revolution Monument.
The tour concludes at Wenceslas Square, where we recall the events of 1968 and 1989. Finally, we descend into the unique, underground anti-nuclear bunker beneath the Jalta Hotel—a fascinating glimpse into the Cold War era.
